Black Hair Care Tips During Swimming
Swimming Caps
Many women underestimate the importance of a swimming cap. Swimming caps don't always keep all of the water out, but they can drastically cut down on the amount of water that seeps onto the scalp while swimming. This can also limit the amount of chemicals that make it out of the water and onto your hair, as well as the need for blow drying after swimming.
Limit Use of Heated Tools
One of the most negative aspects of swimming when it comes to black hair is that getting the hair wet often results in the use of heated styling tools. Blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons seem to go hand in hand with swimming. After all, when the hair gets messy from being in the water, these seem like surefire ways to fix it. In reality, heated styling tools can cause severe damage to the hair shaft, especially when it has already been weakened by the chlorine from the pool. |
